Kochi, formerly Cochin, is a major port city on the west coast of India by the Arabian Sea and is part of the district of Ernakulam in the state of Kerala. Kochi is often called by the name Ernakulam, which refers to the mainland part of the city.
Munnar is a hill station on the Western Ghats, a range of mountains situated in the Idukki district of the Indian state of Kerala. The name Munnar is believed to mean "three rivers", referring to the town's strategic location at the confluence of the Madhurapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundaly rivers.
Kumarakom is a popular tourism destination located near the city of Kottayam, in Kerala, India, famous for its backwater tourism. It is set in the backdrop of the Vembanad Lake which is the largest freshwater lake in the state of Kerala.

Cochin – the palm green commercial town of Kerala has one of the finest natural harbours in the world. A town with a hoary past, Cochin is the gateway to Kerala. The Jewish Synagogue – built in 1568 AD contains Grand Scrolls of the Old Testament and the copper plates containing the privileges granted to the Jews by the Cochin rulers. The floor of the synagogue is paved with exquisite Chinese hand painted tiles. The Dutch Palace was built by the Portuguese and presented to the Cochin Raja in 1555 AD. 17th century murals depicting scenes from the Indian epic, the Ramayana can be seen here. St. Francis Church, built originally by the Portuguese in 1510 AD is believed to be the first church built by Europeans in India. Vasco da Gama was originally buried here. The Chinese fishing nets can be seen at the entrance of the harbour. The Chinese through trade contact taught this technique of catching fish.
Note: Dutch Palace is closed on Fridays & Synagogue is closed on Fridays & Saturdays.

Morning leave for Munnar, on arrival check in at hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Munnar (1520 m) – is a abode of environmental purity situated at the confluence of three mountain streams, Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala. A major centre of Kerala’s tea industry is a genuine hill station and nature lover’s paradise. It is surrounded by about 30 tea estates, among the highest in the world. There are enchanting high ranges, lakes and streams and beautiful view of low-lying clouds and the mist filled valleys. It has many interesting walks. Your visit includes: - Madupetty Dam & Lake, Echo Point, and Swiss Farm Project (Entry to Swiss project is now banned, you can watch it only from outside while you drive to Echo point). The drive around Munnar is itself a sightseeing tour, which gives you one of the finest and breathtaking views of the Tea Estates.
Munnar/Kumarakom (5 hrs drive)
Morning leave for Kumarakom, on arrival check in at hotel. Afternoon free to enjoy the stay at this backwater resort or optional Ayurveda treatments/massage-direct payment.
Kumarakom - Houseboat
At noon Houseboat will report at your hotel. Rest of the day cruise on the backwaters. Dinner and overnight in the boat.
Note: The Houseboat will anchor in the evening and will not move during the night.
Alleppey-Cochin airport drop (2 hrs)
Morning at 0900 hrs check-out from the Houseboat. Transfer to Cochin airport for connects flight to onward destination.

Water-Must drink mineral water only and many good companies in India have mineral water but don’t drink tap water. All five star hotels have good purified water and it is safe for brushing your teeth etc.
Voltage-India has 220 voltage so if you are carrying hair dryers or any electric gadget they need converter and also they need adapter because in India the plugs are all round in shape and in USA they are flat.
Rupee is national currency. You can change the currency in all the hotels or at the airport, There are authorized money changes also in cities, do take a receipt whenever you en-cash any foreign currency. Credit cards are accepted at most places. ATM machines are also available at various places
To carry - Sept and beginning of Oct will be still warm actually hot so carry clothes for summer. We suggest people not to carry expansive clothes as there is so much driving and walking and they get ruined. Carry as much as cotton clothes in summers.
Regarding shorts -you can wear them but please remember that in every city you will be going to either a temple or mosque and these are not appropriate for religious places as you need to cover below the knees. Skirts which are below the knee length, capri, pants and jeans are fine. Shirts with short sleeves are fine as well. Also carry good walking shoes as there is lots of walking in the trip.
Please try to travel light. Also you can carry another folding or light bag so that you can fill that with the items you buy in India
As per the Government of India we don’t need any shots but again please check with your doctor. We do recommend to take malaria pills or repellion as some parts in country still Malaria prone.
